The first beer i ever tasted was PBR. Used to have PBR t-shirt but traded it in the Army for the Ramones "It's Alive" album. I'm pretty certain i got the better of that deal, even if at the time (21 years ago), i wondered if i got the short end of the deal (loved that t-shirt).

Alot of bar owners here in St. Louis don't like being subjected to the pressure from Budweiser, so many sell PBR, Miller, etc really cheap just to drive biz away from Bud. I have slipped a couple racks of PBR in between the Bass and Newcastle just for fun.

I'm going to have to make a list of some of the beer you all been talkin about but I couldn't read ALL the posts on this page. I DO like the hoppy tastes of IPA's and also the malt of porter and stouts. I got sick of guiness but would really like to know what it tastes like in Ireland.
I love some good microbrews, especially because I don't slam beers for the sake of gettin all liquored up, it's because I like beer. : )
I like dogfish head, great lakes makes good beer, I think Rogue makes a nice porter and Three Floyds out of indiana makes some great brews too although I think johnnyonthespot might not like it because it's pretty hoppy.
thanks for giving me some new ideas.

Just to add to the PBR pantheon:
Best PBR reference from a film has got to be Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet:

"Pabst Blue F---Ing Ribbon!"
